Dr. Alison Messina grew up in Staten Island, NY and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Biology from Rutgers University in 2005, followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Messina completed her veterinary clinical program at the University of Pennsylvania. Her professional interests include geriatric medicine, pain management, surgery, and dentistry. She also has a passion for animal rescue and is a strong advocate for animal welfare. Dr. Messina is dedicated to providing high-quality care for her patients, while also providing comfort and compassion to their families. Outside of the Hospital, she enjoys playing strategy board games, painting, reading, and baking. Dr. Messina lives in South Philly with her dogs (Royal and Kaylee) and cats (Elliot, Bruiser, and Virtute).
